About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Middle East Journal of Positive Psychology (MEJPP) has the primary aim of developing an indigenous positive psychology in the Middle East/North Africa region, with particular although not exclusive, attention to the Arab/Islamic world. The MEJPP is interested in happiness and well-being, as well as positive education, positive media, positive clinical psychology, positive community development, positive health, positive cultural and social development, positive organizational and workplace development, as well as positive psychology coaching.

Other areas of interest may include;

Positive aspects of emotions and experiences; human development; leadership; assessment and measurement; relationships; religion; parenting; culture; indigenous positive psychology; building and planning, urban development; any other relevant topic to positive psychology in the Middle East/North Africa region. If you have a topic you are unsure about, send an email to the editor for inquiry to mejpospsy@gmail.com.

All submissions must have an explicit positive psychology framework

The MEJPP publishes theoretical, applied, empirical, quantitative and qualitative research in any domain of positive psychology in Arabic and English. The aim of the journal is to encourage critical analysis of issues relating to happiness, well-being and culture in the Middle East/North Africa region.

"Short Reports" are studies in Arabic or English that do not meet the criteria for a full study. This includes preliminary works with small sample sizes, or findings that do not meet statistical significance, but nevertheless have regional impact and warrant being published to showcase and build a foundation for future work. It is the Editor's decision whether an article is accepted as a full submission or reclassified as a "short report". Both categories stand as important contributions to a regional positive psychology.
